In your first session your therapist or counselor will likely ask you questions about you and your life. Openness and honesty are important, allowing a therapist to make a more accurate assessment of your situation.

Some questions asked of you may include: why you chose therapy, personal history of your current situation and current symptoms. Ask questions if you have them and be prepared to talk about the things weighing on your mind.
